What makes ChildObesity180 truly distinctive is its people and their outstanding backgrounds, dedication, and realm of influence. For the first time, a team of prominent experts and leaders from all sectors—public, nonprofit, academic, and private—has gathered with singleness of purpose to address the childhood obesity crisis.
The team comprises 21 senior decision-makers from the highest levels of government, academia, public health advocacy, community organizations, the food industry, and the media. Members of ChildObesity180 are personally and directly involved in all interactions and decisions. Though we occasionally come from different sides of some issues, we wholeheartedly agree on one thing: the childhood obesity epidemic and its disastrous consequences simply must not continue.
While many individuals and organizations are working on this issue, ChildObesity180 will attempt to use its cross-sector composition, deep connections, and expertise to generate urgency, traction, and impact to reverse the trend of childhood obesity.
